Natural Hair Care Tips

hair care No matter if it is summer or winter — nature can be tough on your hair. Hair can easily become frizzy, dehydrated, and weathered by the sun, frost and dry wind. If the hair is not protected enough from the rain, snow, heat, dryness, wind and other manifestations of the ever-changing seasons, it can also become weak and start falling off.

The same may happen if your internal environment does not provide necessary elements to feed hair roots and hair shafts efficiently - if your diet lacks necessary vitamins, protein, and fatty acids. In order to nourish your hair properly and protect it from the weather and undesirable, harsh chemicals in hair colours and other hair products, you have to eat a good, protein-rich diet and take a natural care of your hair. It includes covering it with an appropriate hat depending on the season, massaging it daily with a soft brush, cleaning it regularly with soft shampoos and conditioners, and applying nourishing masks and rinses. Although our strategies of hair care would be more suitable for women, men also can use some of the following natural hair care tips - a right diet plus homemade masks, which will help improve the appearance of hair and make it strong, shiny, and healthy. These measures should also prevent hair loss which is not caused by genetic reasons:

Diet:

- As hair is made of protein, your diet should be protein-rich, including plenty of meat, fish, and dairy products.

- Decreasing the amount of carbs (especially wheat and other gluten-containing grains) will improve scalp disorders, like seborrhoea or dandruff and, in some cases, cure hair loss.

- Liberal amounts of natural butter and coconut oil in your diet will provide essential lubrication and moisture to the hair. Also, in winter months it is advisable to consume 2 teaspoons of cod liver oil daily, especially if you live in the north.

Ayurvedic mask, made of equal amounts of freshly-squeezed lemon juice and olive oil, will greatly improve dry hair and give it an instant shine.

Russian mask, made of yogurt or buttermilk, will prevent dandruff, strengthen the roots, and give your hair wonderful shine and softness.

Mediterranean mask, made of egg yolks mixed with liquid honey, will deep condition your hair, stimulate the roots, and sooth the scalp.

Cleopatra’s mask, made of white clay or red mud, is extremely effective against weak and dull hair. It also prevents hair loss.

-   Philippine mask, made of extra-virgin coconut oil mixed with palm wine (or cognac), is helpful against split hair.

brush If your take a good care of your hair and eat a protein-rich diet, but your hair still continues falling, your might consider consulting a doctor, as there could be other health-related reasons involved in your hair loss (for more information, read our article 3 Basic Reasons for Hair Loss.
